To love or not to love

I have been an advocate of purity in human relationships and the purest definition of a relation is association of two individuals through the bond called love. But this happens to be the most used and overused form of expressing the emotions

Love is the joy of human acceptance and existence and it just lets a person just be the way he or she wishes to be and still feel the empowerment of souls. When in love there is a need to accommodate or adjust, the whole equation starts shifting towards controlling the human behaviours. I really feel the human need is all about controlling the other individuals and loving becomes a wonderful bait to offer in return.

I just wish to understand the need to be in love and why it is so vital for human existence and how it can be a source of human development rather than human exploitation. When two people connect the aim is very clear, it is for procreation or for security and then remain together for protecting their progeny or satiating the need for bodily pleasure. What is then love, where is the essence of purity and sanctity of the divine bond between two souls.
